Samsung LN46B630 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color Review

I've had this television for a week and have watched both movies and HD TV with it. There is no question it's an excellent television. My only reservation is that it makes everything look like it was shot on video (much the way daytime soap operas look). That's fine for sports or documentaries like "Planet Earth", but I find it really distracting for a movie (on DVD or TV). There have been articles written (check CNET) about the result of taking "judder" out of the images we see on the mid to high end (120 hz + refresh rate) televisions. Some people like the "video" effect and others prefer the way movies look in theaters. I am strongly in the latter camp. Fortunately, it's relatively easy to adjust the TV to your preferences. I found that you can achieve an incredible picture for TV and DVD by turning both the judder and blur control down one step from their default settings. With that change, I am completely happy with this television. As an aside, I also have a 40" Samsung LN40B550 which has a 60 hz refresh rate. That television does not produce the same "shot-on-video" effect, but overall, the picture is not as good as the LNB630.Get more detail about Samsung LN46B630 46-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color.
