Overall, love this TV. Incredible picture and realistic movement (240Hz)--almost too good, since the movement of the camera, especially if hand-held for certain scenes is so distinct that it can sometimes be distracting, with all the "jarring" that happens during the filming. So, if that might bother you, stick w/120 Hz or less. We also own the LN40A550, which is also a great set but the jarring isn't as obvious, I think because it's only 60 Hz but great TV too & completely problem-free so far. Might even be nicer with larger than 40" screen.

Caveat: Had LN40B750 about 2 months when picture completely disappears when turn on--now waiting on in-home (warranteed, thankfully) repair next week, which I'm anticipating will result in all being well. Since it's relatively new on market, I am not completely upset about some potential bugs needing to be worked out and still give this tv a high rating--could probably say 5 stars, but will need to see what happens once repaired.

Other pros: I like touch of gray--wasn't too into the red of other models. Screen is slightly shiny but not a problem, despite light from windows, which was a concern prior to seeing it in real life. BTW, you can set it so that the light at the bottom can be on or off, for those who are wondering and might not like that. When reviewers say this TV has more depth than others, what they actually mean is that it looks so crystal-clear and three-dimensional that you KNOW when a program is filmed on a studio set. This really takes some getting used to, since all other TV screens we've ever watched have conditioned us to see two dimensions only. My husband absolutely loves it for viewing football games, but I prefer the non-LED Samsung version of HDTV for movies and regular programs. (I'd rate this TV a 4.5 but didn't have this option.)

I went back and forth over getting a new LCD or Plasma tv. My current set was a DLP. I kept seeing great reviews on this model, but in store it had kind of a dingy looking picture compared to most other sets i compared it to.

Well a salesmen reminded me that most sets are infinitly adjustable, and that they just take them out of the box and plug them in. I went looking to buy a samsung due to a little bit brighter picture. The Samsung ended up not being available until November, so i went with the Panasonic which was in stock, and on sale.

First, i don't think anyone will be impressed with the standard picture setting. Like i mentioned earlier, its a dingy, dull screen. However on "Cinema" or "Custom" setup, this picture is night and day brighter and more colorful. At these settings, this tv rivals anything out there.

At the moment, i'm running CNET's calibrated setup. Not sure if i will leave it there as it's a litle darker than "cinema" or "custom" factory settings. But since the tv is new, i will let it get some hours before worrying about brightening it up.

Go to a showroom and compare this set side by side to anything else, and you'll be unimpressed. I almost did'nt buy it, because of this. In one showroom it would look good, and in others it was bad ? But when you take it home and tweak the settings, it's a whole different TV. The "standard" settings really give no indication of the picture on this thing.

Good news/bad news: the picture quality is terrific, but I cannot POWER OFF! I called the company and was told to keep the power button down for 8 seconds -- unfortunately it powers off momentarily and then immediately powers back on. The only way to turn it off is to remove the plug from the wall (& even then if there is any battery juice it stays on until the battery runs out). Previously I had read another review here about that happening, but thought it was probably just an odd occurrence, but when it happened to me I assumed that this is probably happening on a much more frequent basis.

Good news: I live in the boonies and the antenna brought in all our local stations very, very well.

The remote does not have a power/on/off switch. I don't know why.

It does not recognize the 75 ohm signal (through the wall) from my satellite -- I called the company and was told it would not recognize the satellite signal through the wall outlet connected to the rf input -- (it has to be connected directly to the satellite box w/rca cables). So if you want it in your kitchen, forget it, unless you have the satellite box in the kitchen, too.

The sound is tinny, but I could live with the unit if everything else worked.

First, as another reviewer mentioned it states a swivel base, yet the base does not swivel. Lastly, and this is the reason that I may in fact return the set, is when you look at the images, specifically the rear image and zoom in, you see two HDMI inputs, a fact which the description validates with the text 'HDMI inputs.' That image is not the back of this television, as it has only one HDMI input.

I had it from box to viewing in about five minuets. Took me longer to open the damned box then to actually set it up.

I was looking for a smaller than 40 inch set for a bedroom and this tv is the perfect size. Relatively thin so perfect for wall mounting and the picture is excellent. While not up to the LN52A650 by Samsung (and nothing really is) for the price you will not find a better picture than this set. The menu's are easy to navigate. Operation is flawless and with 3 HDMI inputs its got plenty for most applications. This set is less in cost than the 550 model mainly because it doesnt have the side inputs which for me i dont use in the bedroom and would rather save the $100 or so odd dollars. If you wanted them later you could easily run a wallplate with them to a another location which actually makes for a cleaner install. Samsung is the best picture out there and is worth a few extra dollars. I fully expect many years of trouble free service from this set as thats been my experience with this brand. Also register online for their warranty and they add 3 months to the end of it at no cost just for signing up. Would buy this set again.

This TV has a beautiful, clear, responsive picture with great contrast ratio which is noticeable even in normal lighting. It also has a variety of many ways to connect devices. I connected my PC using a DVI-to-HDMI cable and it works perfectly, which is great for Hulu fans. It's so thin and light that mounting it to a wall is no problem, although I would still recommend finding a stud to mount to. The Yahoo Widgets are neat, but really not that usable (explained later). The features that I have not tried, but am looking forward to trying are the ability of the TV to decode and playback many formats of (non-DRM) music, and videos from a flash drive. You can also connect the TV wirelessly to a PC to play video/audio files as well (You'll need to buy the wireless USB attachment). Oh yeah - it also does slideshows of photos.

There are really only a few, nit-picky things that kept me from giving it a 5-star rating. These are "nit picky" because they don't really detract much from my enjoyment of the TV when using it for its primary purpose: watching video.

1. There is a slight back-lighting bleed-through around the edges of the screen in places. It's hardly ever noticeable unless the edges of the screen are black and the room is dark. It really doesn't bother me much, but I would like to see them correct this in future models.

2. The remote is is nifty, but not always very responsive. That may have more to do with the receiving process in the TV than the actual remote because it's mostly noticeable when I'm doing things that require the menu, and especially when using Yahoo Widgets.

3. The Yahoo Widgets are a cool idea, but there are a few problems with them on this TV. First they are slow. I have an 802.11n connection, so it's not a bandwidth issue. Plus, it's not just the load time that's slow, but the response time within the applications. Sometimes when scrolling the cursor around from place to place the app will freeze for a second and then suddenly "play" all of your buffered movements. This is especially an issue when using the "keyboard" to type in a search. I use quotes because it's not a really keyboard, but one displayed on the screen and you have to push the cursor around the screen from letter to letter. Which brings up another point: typing anything in using the remote is painful and annoying. To me this makes the Widgets fairly useless since, for instance, I rarely want to watch the "recommended" Youtube videos. If I bring up the Youtube widget it because I want to watch one in particular, but it takes way too long to "type" in a search. It's faster just to connect my laptop. If Samsung allowed the connection of some wireless TV keyboard and mousing device combo this would be much more useful. Maybe this is already a feature, but I missed it?

4. Lastly and least important, The sound quality from the built-in speakers is not great, but I never expected it to be. I wish they would have offered a model with no speakers and more screen real-estate, but that's probably not cost-effective.

I bought this TV new from Amazon when they were offering a $300 discount, which brought the total bepice below $2000. This combined with no sales tax saved me $600+ over buying from a local brick-and-mortar retailer. Even without the discount I would highly recommend this TV. i got this T.V. because i didnt want to spend a lot of money and i needed an HDTV for my ps3. first off FEDEX SUCKS. they were used over ups which was there first mistake. The controller for the TV is cheap as hell. i will prob get a universal remote. I went through many days of researching consumer reports and other websites before picking this TV. I understand where some people have their issues with interface and the sound but I have a small condo (900 sq ft) in San Diego. Hooking it up to my over the air antenna I get 30 stations (digital ones are so clear they blow cable away!). The sound is perfectly fine for my room at 20 (*the tv goes up to 75...so it will be more than loud enough for a regular room). The picture quality is stunning.

The only downside I would warn someone is that I also have a bluray player and if you watch a great movie with lots of CGI special effects you will now be able to tell without any effort that it's CGI (computer generated images). Watching GI Joe was great fun but the special effects jumped out at you so much it was obvious. If you watch something like WallE you won't have that problem.

I don't think I can waste money going to a movie theater now since my at home experience will be so much superior thanks to this amazing TV. If you use the Amazon on demand of Netflix (coming soon they say) you'll need a 10mps download speed. I turned off the glowing SONY logo, which looks great as long as you're not watching a movie, without a problem (three clicks) and use the TV Guide service (free) and love it! I have had this TV for a few weeks now. Actually it is my second. The first one delivered came with the backlight not working correctly. It would turn on/off flicker all the time.

I called Amazon and got referred to LG customer service. LG customer service after going through an unsuccessful over the phone troubleshoot attempt opened a case for repair. Called Amazon back, gave the LG case number, and got the TV promptly replaced (old one picked up when the new one was delivered).
